Disclaimer: Independent Windows 11 Guides, Not Microsoft

Windows 11 Field Guide (windows11.io) is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation or any PC maker. Windows and Windows 11 are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies.

Not a support service

We do not offer phone, chat, remote-access or on-site support, and we never ask readers to call a number. If a pop-up, email or caller claims to be “Windows support” and asks you to call or install remote-access software, it is a scam. Close it and do not pay or give access.

General information

Guides were written against Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. As checked on 14 October 2026, Microsoft’s release information lists 25H2 and 26H2 as the current versions for Home and Pro (24H2 has reached end of updates for those editions), so some menus may differ slightly on newer builds. Guides are checked against Microsoft’s documentation, but menus change and every PC is different. Use the guides at your own risk, and back up your files before reinstalling, resetting or upgrading.

Downloads and licences

We do not host Windows downloads, product keys or activation tools. Download Windows only from Microsoft, and activate it only with a genuine licence.

No paid recommendations

We do not accept payment for coverage, and the site carries no affiliate links.
