Windows 11 Focus Sessions: How to Set It Up and Use It
Written by Windows 11 Field Guide Editorial Team · Updated
This page is a short, practical checklist for windows 11 focus sessions on Windows 11 (versions 24H2 and 25H2). It covers the steps that apply in most cases and points you to our in-depth guides. For the full picture, start with our Windows 11 features guide.
Find and open the feature
Most built-in features can be found by typing their name into Start search. Apps such as Snipping Tool, Clock, Phone Link and Windows Terminal are updated through the Microsoft Store, so open Store > Library > Get updates if a feature looks different from the instructions.
Settings that control it
Feature options are usually in the Settings app: Personalization for Start, taskbar and widgets; System for notifications, focus, clipboard and multitasking; Accessibility for Narrator, Magnifier, Live captions and Voice access; Bluetooth & devices for Phone Link and mobile devices.
If it is missing
Some features depend on the Windows 11 version, the region, the hardware (for example Copilot+ PC features need a PC with a capable NPU), or the edition. Check your version with winver and install pending updates first.

This page is a short checklist and has not yet been expanded into a full guide. Steps follow current Windows 11 menus; if your screens differ, check your version with the winver command.
