Windows 11 Notifications Settings: Steps and Tips to Know

Written by Windows 11 Field Guide Editorial Team · Updated

This page is a short, practical checklist for windows 11 notifications on Windows 11 (versions 24H2 and 25H2). It covers the steps that apply in most cases and points you to our in-depth guides. For the full picture, start with our Windows 11 Settings guide.

Open Settings quickly

Press Windows key + I, or right-click Start and choose Settings. The search box at the top left of Settings finds most options by name, which is often quicker than browsing the categories in the left pane.

If a setting is missing

Some options depend on the edition (Home or Pro), on the hardware, or on whether the PC is managed by work or school. If Settings says “Some of these settings are managed by your organization”, the policy comes from an administrator. Menu names can also move slightly between Windows 11 versions, so check your version with the winver command when instructions do not match.

This page is a short checklist and has not yet been expanded into a full guide. Steps follow current Windows 11 menus; if your screens differ, check your version with the winver command.
